We're located in downtown historic Byron, Georgia, behind the Visitor's Center and Ms. Patricia's School of Dance and Gymnastics. The front of the building faces the railroad tracks that run through the heart of downtown Byron.

Papa's Place is housed in the old Peavy Hardware and Carriage Warehouse that was originally constructed in 1882. Not only do our unique home furnishings have a history, but also the building they are housed in.
Steve Smith, Sr., the owner of Papa's Place, is a machinist and master woodworker. His specialty is heirloom-quality baby cradles (read the newspaper article on the "About Us" page). He can also make repairs to furniture items and restore them to their original condition. His home shop is fully equipped for all kinds of repairs.
In addition to the custom-made baby cradles, Papa's Place has custom crafted baby blankets, other pieces of custom built furniture, and unique home furnishings such as those items listed at the right.
We enjoy visiting and browsing for our unique home furnishings in antique and curiosity shops and at estate and yard sales. We've done the legwork for you! We've collected a large inventory of unique, solid wood, quality furniture and country-themed home furnishings from all over the Southeast.
